This blogging business is not coming easily. Yikes. It was April we last posted...and that was just a silly sign. We are definitely not living up to our commitment to keep you all in the loop. Please forgive us and allow us to give you a quick update.
We finished our last conference of the season last Sunday. Over the past 5 months we have literally been coast to coast across Canada - with many points in between - speaking at marriage conferences, recruiting staff, meeting with donors and starting to build a coalition of sorts with other like-minded ministries. We are finding that there are a lot of people doing good marriage and family ministry in this country but most them are small and struggling not for profits and we've realized our role may be to help connect them with each other and perhaps even bring them together under one virtual - if not literal - roof so we can work together and share wisdom and resources. There seems to be a good cooperative spirit among many of the people we've met.
Once again, some amazing stories of reconciliation, forgiveness and transformation unfolded before our eyes this conference season. How amazing! What a privilege to speak God's truth into people's lives. And how fun to offer some practical relationship tools to couples who are fundamentally doing well...but need some help in one area of their marriage. A lovely surprise this year is that 60% of all the couples at our conferences were in their 20's or 30's. So great to see young couples investing in their marriages early on. Building into their young families may not be as dramatic to report as the "rescue" stories....but it's what we believe is going to make the biggest difference in the marriages and families of this country long term. And we just love those young couples! We are so fortunate to be able to do this good work....and you make that possible. Thank you.
A full newsletter/update will be coming your way soon....but we wanted you to know we are still alive, still doing marriage ministry and still grateful for you. And we still pray for you every day.
Love,
Neil and Sharol
